Project Overview
The seminar, led by Dr Peter A C Nelson, explored how artists use game engines and 3D software as central mediums in their practice, focusing on storytelling through worldbuilding. For each speaker, a customized environment was created, featuring 2D, 3D, and audio content from their artistic work, offering seminar guests an entirely new way to experience these creations. Guests included representatives from M+, CityU, and CUHK, alongside Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. students.
Technical Narrative
By creating 360-degree 3D portfolios for each artist, visitors could deeply engage with the creative process and gain new perspectives on how 3D software and game engines are transforming contemporary art. This setup provided a unique behind-the-scenes view, where 3D models, videos, and essential materials were dynamically displayed. Artists adapted their virtual studios in real-time, enhancing interaction and presenting a multi-layered glimpse into their creative methods. Unlike traditional formats, this platform showcased a wide range of media simultaneously, offering a more interactive exploration of leading 3D artists’ work.
